Yesterday we were able to hold the first in what we hope to be annual Metro Detroit Alumni Golf Outing at Sylvan Glen Golf Course in Troy, MI. The day was absolutely beautiful with perfect weather for getting outside and swinging the sticks with fellow brothers from Metro Detroit, as well as Brother Ryan Weber, who made the trek over from Milwaukee.
The winning group of the 2-man scramble format was Eric Jarvie and Ryan Weber, finishing up with a score of 67. Winner of the closest to the pin competition was Todd Godbey, and winner of the longest drive was Steve Frassetto.
After the events the brothers gathered on the patio and shared stories, food, and drinks. A special thanks to brother Todd Godbey who was able to provide the prizes in the form of limited release beers from Jolly Pumpkin Brewery. Another special thanks to the Alumni Club’s Vice President Alex Grube for helping to set everything up but was unable to attend the event due to the birth of his second child. Congrats again Alex!
I know that all of the brothers who attended were very happy with the event and are excited to see what next years outing can do. I hope to see many of you at the Alumni Golf Outing the friday before River Rampage at Falcon Head Golf Course, it will no doubt be another great Phi Sig event!
